Product Description

1GB 40-Pin IDE SSD Replacement for Vintage 3.5-inch IDE Hard Drives

Solid-state 1GB IDE / PATA replacement drive for vintage PCs, industrial controllers, arcade systems, CNC equipment, embedded computers, POS terminals, and other legacy machines originally designed for 3.5-inch 40-pin IDE hard drives. This solution uses a 1GB CompactFlash-style SSD card pre-mounted on a 40-pin IDE adapter, giving older systems quiet, low-power, no-moving-parts storage that can replace many small-capacity legacy IDE hard drives.

  • 1x 1GB 40-Pin IDE SSD card
  • 1x 40-pin IDE adapter board
  • 1x 4-pin Molex power lead

⚙️ Fit Notes

  • This is a 1GB 40-pin IDE / PATA solid-state replacement, not a SATA drive
  • Designed for systems that use a standard 40-pin desktop IDE ribbon cable
  • This is not a 44-pin 2.5-inch laptop IDE drive replacement
  • Set the adapter jumper to Master or Slave based on your IDE cable position and system configuration
  • Many vintage systems require the drive geometry to be entered manually in BIOS
  • Default geometry is 1950 Cylinders / 16 Heads / 63 Sectors
  • Drive ships blank and must be partitioned and formatted before use
  • For DOS and many vintage systems, FAT16 is usually the preferred file system
  • Operating system installation or disk cloning is required before the computer will boot from this drive
  • Some older BIOS versions may have fixed drive tables or capacity limits; verify that a 1GB drive is supported
  • Mount the adapter securely inside the chassis to avoid movement during operation
  • This product replaces the storage function of a 3.5-inch IDE hard drive but does not have the same physical metal drive housing
  • Not compatible with SATA, SCSI, SAS, M.2, mSATA, PCIe, or 44-pin laptop IDE connections without additional adapters
