This 16-pin battery-to-cache cable connects a compatible 4.8V Ni-MH BBWC battery pack to the cache memory module on Smart Array P400 and selected P400i controller installations. It is the 292mm or 11.5-inch cable identified by assembly number 408658-001 and service spare number 409124-001.

- This is a battery-to-cache cable and does not replace the SAS drive data cable.
- Use only with the appropriate 4.8V Ni-MH battery pack and compatible BBWC cache module.
- Power down the system and disconnect external power before replacing the cable or battery.
- A failed or missing battery may cause the controller to disable write-back cache even when the cable is functioning correctly.
