Empty 3.5-inch LFF Low Profile Carrier drive tray for compatible HPE ProLiant, Apollo, and StoreEasy systems equipped with matching hot-plug drive bays. This caddy securely mounts a supported 3.5-inch SATA or SAS drive and provides the correct alignment, vented front bezel, and release-latch design for the server backplane.
Hard drive, SSD, backplane, drive cage, controller, cables, and server are not included.

Part numbers 797519-001 and 797520-001 are frequently associated with this caddy because they identify complete 4TB SATA and SAS drive assemblies originally supplied with the carrier. They are complete drive part numbers—not interchangeable empty-tray numbers.
To install a supported 2.5-inch SATA or SAS HDD or SSD into this 3.5-inch LFF carrier, use the HP 661914-001 2.5" to 3.5" SATA SAS Drive Adapter.
The adapter positions the smaller drive and its connector correctly within the LFF carrier. It is sold separately and does not convert SATA to SAS or add drive support to an incompatible controller.
We regularly fulfill large-volume orders for data-center deployments, server builds, refurbishment programs, resellers, system integrators, and spare-parts inventories. Feel confident placing high-volume orders directly through the store.

Compatibility depends on the system’s exact drive cage and backplane. This tray is intended for 3.5-inch LFF Low Profile Carrier hot-plug bays. The same server model may also be available with SFF, non-hot-plug, Smart Carrier, or other drive-bay configurations that use different trays.

✓ Confirm that the server has a 3.5-inch LFF Low Profile Carrier hot-plug drive cage. A 3.5-inch bay or Gen10 model name alone does not guarantee compatibility.
✓ For the DL20 Gen10 and DL20 Gen10 Plus, this tray fits the 2LFF hot-plug chassis. It is not required for the 2LFF non-hot-plug chassis, where drives are secured inside a removable fixed cage.
✓ This tray is not interchangeable with older LFF Smart Carrier trays such as 651314-001 or 651320-001. Those carriers use a different front bezel, latch, and drive-cage interface.
✓ The standard StoreEasy 1650 is based on the DL380 Gen9 Smart Carrier platform and should not be confused with the compatible StoreEasy 1650 Expanded, which is based on the Apollo 4200 Gen9.
✓ A SAS drive requires a SAS-capable backplane and controller. A SATA-only controller or direct SATA connection cannot operate a SAS drive.
✓ The carrier does not determine drive capacity, speed, sector format, firmware support, or RAID compatibility. Verify the installed drive separately.
✓ A 2.5-inch drive requires an appropriate 2.5-to-3.5 adapter such as 661914-001. The empty carrier alone will not correctly position a 2.5-inch drive against the LFF backplane.
✓ Secure the drive with all four mounting screws before inserting the assembly. Loose or missing screws can prevent correct backplane alignment.
✓ Hot-plug removal is only appropriate when supported by the server, controller, RAID configuration, drive, and operating system. Never remove an active drive without confirming its status.
✓ Keep unused bays populated with the correct drive blanks to preserve designed airflow and cooling.
