Interchangeable / Replacement Part Numbers
9V4004-021, 5065-5236, 5065-7806, A6192-60001, A6192-69001, A6192-69002, A6192A, A6192AR, A6192AZ, A6229A, ST336605FC, ST336607FC, ST336704FC
Mechanism-level numbers such as ST336605FC, ST336607FC, and ST336704FC are interchangeable only when supplied with compatible HP firmware and the proper sector configuration. A generic OEM drive carrying the same Seagate model number is not automatically a drop-in replacement.
✅ Confirmed Compatibility
Please note that compatibility depends on the array model, controller and LCC firmware, sector format, and system configuration. Match the original HP product or spare number whenever possible.

⚙️ Fit Notes
- This is a Fibre Channel drive, not SAS, SATA, or parallel SCSI.
- The 40-pin FC-SCA connector is not interchangeable with an 80-pin parallel-SCSI SCA connector.
- Matching capacity, RPM, connector, and Seagate model alone is insufficient. OEM firmware and array recognition are required.
- A replacement drive supplied with 512-byte sectors will be automatically reformatted to 520-byte sectors by a compatible VA controller. This process erases any existing drive data.
- Specifies approximately 20 minutes for the raw formatting of a 36GB 10K drive with Verify disabled. Do not remove the drive or power off the array during Auto Format.
- When adding a DS2405 to a VA7400, requires suitable controller firmware and a 1Gb/s LCC loop-speed setting. VA7110 and VA7410 configurations use the 2Gb/s back-end setting.
- Do not operate the array for more than five minutes with a drive or filler module removed; the closed bay is required for correct airflow.
- Follow the array’s safe-removal and spin-down procedure before replacing a failed drive.
