This motherboard uses a replaceable 3V CR2032 lithium coin-cell battery. The KU144 3V Lithium CMOS / RTC Battery is compatible with the OptiPlex 740 Mini Tower and is sold separately.

Replacing an aging CMOS battery can help correct repeated time and date resets, lost BIOS settings, and startup prompts after the computer has been unplugged.
